Compliance and Licensing Officer

Team: Legal and Compliance
Location: Malta

Our client is currently seeking to expand its EU operations within its Group of Entities and employ a Compliance and Licensing Officer to report directly to the Head of Legal and Compliance. If you are self-motivated and are willing to learn and gain experience within the remote gaming industry, we want to hear from you!

• Be responsible for IT Compliance (Information Security, Data Protection knowledge, ISO 27001);
• Preparation of Remote Gaming License applications including drafting of policies and procedures & Implementation of internal tools and measures to comply with license conditions;
• Product Compliance (Back-Office and Front-end across all jurisdictions to adhere to regulatory license conditions and implementation of measures/features to mitigate risk and non-conformity, bug fixing);
• In charge of all internal controls, Policies and procedures across the business and its enforcement;
• In charge of Marketing Compliance which consists in enforcing internal controls and processes;
• Be responsible of Risk Management which would consist in but is not limited to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability, conduct risk assessments & system audits;
• In charge of drafting, implementing and making sure company is in compliance with internal Anti Money Laundering Policies and procedures;
• Draft, and implement internal Responsible Gambling policies and procedures;
• Undertake staff Compliance training on various topics (AML/RG/CDD/EDD/PEP/IT Sec./Marketing);
• Be responsible to submit liability and/or industry returns to the relevant regulatory authority as necessary;
• Handling all Compliance related escalations (such as Customer Support 3rd line escalation, Alternative Dispute Resolution complaints);
• Regular license maintenance tasks and duty to keep licenses in good standing such as submitting notifications and events filing to the relevant regulatory when necessary;
• Liaising with external advisors of the company in relation to licensing matters;
• Monitor and as necessary, co-ordinating compliance activities of other departments to remain abreast of the status of all compliance activities and to identify trends within the Company and the Company’s group of companies;
• Maintaining and upkeeping relevant compliance and regulatory matrixes for the Company and its group of entities and providing the Company and its group of entities with the relevant compliance and regulatory advice from time to time and ensuring the Company and its group of entities comply and implement such advice;
• Maintenance of register of internal policies;
• Carrying out KYC processes for the Company’s or any of its group entities’ partners such as payment service providers, banking institutions and the like;
• Ensuring that all Company’s employees comply with all guidelines, management directives, and human resources policies, industry practices and professional standards I whilst carrying out their tasks;
• Working closely with Senior Management and the Head of Legal and Compliance;
• Provide reports on a regular basis, and as requested or directed, to keep the Head of Legal and Compliance, board of directors and senior officers/management informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts;
• Conducting regulatory market research and providing relevant advice on specific markets of interest;
• Monitor the performance of the Company Compliance Program and related activities on a continuous basis and taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness;
• Willingness to take over certain key function positions with the relevant regulatory authority of the Company or its group of entities;
• Be prepared to travel internationally.

• Ideally a graduate with law degree (this is a plus but not obligatory);
• At least 1+ years experience in a similar role within the remote gaming industry;
• Experience in risk management and project co-ordination;
• Experience with ISO certification and Data protection;
• Fluent in the English language including speaking and writing skills;
• Previous experience in dealing with regulatory authorities;
• Highly organised;
• Business minded individual who knows how to always seek a balance between business needs and compliance measures;
• Good Communication Skills;
• Diligent and eye to detail.
